Book Reviews
"Sid
Eavis
was one of Canon Glennon's closest friends and confidantes. In this
book, Sid has brought the same clarity of understanding and insight into
Canon Glennon's life, the man himself; as Jim Glennon brought to the
Church's understanding and insight of the Holy Scriptures regarding the
healing gifts of Jesus Christ. I heartily recommend this book to
everyone who has read Jim Glennon's two definitive books on Christian
healing ("Your Healing is Within You" and "How Can I Find
Healing?")and/or who had the privilege to hear Canon Glennon teach while
he lived. But I also recommend it to anyone who has ever felt the nudge
of the Holy Spirit to investigate Christian healing and who may never
have even heard of the man, Jim Glennon, previously. Sid's book will
serve as a catalyst for readers to seek further information on healing,
and as such, it pays great tribute to a single Australian Anglican
clergyman who has left an indelible legacy of healed persons, healing
ministers and healing ministries all over this world. Take special note
of the "Glennonisms" that precede each chapter and, of course, the
anecdotal insights that Sid shares about his good friend. The book is
honest and insightful. I am one who has profoundly benefited from Canon
Glennon's ministry, but who never had the opportunity to meet Jim
Glennon face to face ... until, of course, I read Sid's book.

"In our celebrity-ridden era, it is a source of deep satisfaction to see
something written about a person able to exercise an immensely positive
influence on anyone who urgently needs the message of the
Kingdom
of
God. Such
a person was Canon Jim Glennon, who exercised his influence on many
seekers from
Sydney
to
London
to
New York
(where I live) and many points in between. The theme of his life was the
grandest of all themes, namely the
Kingdom
of
God
as a present and available reality. It is a theme in which lies the key
to victory over problems of every description. His long-time
friend, Sid Eavis, fills his account with edifying examples of how God
used Canon Jim. This is a book to keep at hand for
continual uplift.
